HITS No Olympo Poseidon Holo Blue Polish

This week I've had HITS No Olympo Poseidon on my fingernails.  It's a blue polish with a strong holographic effect.  I got it on llarowe.com.  I got hardly any shrinkage from the Seche Vite I used on top of Poseidon.  It didn't dull the holo effect, either.  My daily addition of a coat of Sally Hansen Quick Dry Top Coat has not dulled the holo, either, but it did cause significant tip shrinkage.  The polish has worn well, though.  So far today it's been 5 days of wear, and I have no chips.  Application was very easy and so was cleanup.  I would recommend this polish for "beginners."  I am still learning so much about polishing my nails, but applying this polish was easier and more foolproof than most polishes.  The polish applied evenly and dried quickly.  I liked the thinner brush.  As opposed to the OPI pro wide and other wide brushes, it's more like the old Revlon brushes.  I used one coat of Sally Hansen Age Correct Growth (discontinued), three coats of Poseidon (but it was fine at two coats), and a coat of Seche Vite, and I added a coat of Revlon Quick Dry Top Coat every day.  Below are some pictures.

Color when not in direct light.  The actual color is a little lighter than in these pictures.

  1. Wow!!! I was wearing the same brand, in the Artemis shade, and it was so cloudy here that I didn't get much of the holo showing up. Yours looks beautiful!

    1. I have a polish very similar to Artemis. It's Glitter Gal Silver Holo. It may be my favorite polish of all time. I would just look at it again and again when I had it on my nails. I even loved the pale gray color it had when it was not in sunlight. It also felt very sci-fi Star Trek the original series to me, and that also made me happy.

    2. Oh, and I will be putting on Hits Hermes on Sunday after I take Poseidon off. I might wear Demeter the week after that. We'll see. I have been dying to wear some gorgeous aqua creme polishes and some orange creme polishes, but the holo polishes keep cutting in line!

    1. If I had not added the Revlon top coats, there would have been no shrinkage, but that's the price I pay to keep the polish from chipping off when I shower. The Revlon QDTC is the only one that dries in the 10 minutes I have coffee in the morning before I shower.

I do get bored of some polishes after a few days. Even with Poseidon being this gorgeous, I was itching for a change in polish after a few days. It takes me so long to do my nails, though, between removing polish, filing, sometimes buffing, removing cuticles, nipping hangnails, and then the polishing, and then cleanup. So, I haven't wanted to do my nails more than once a week. However, with the untrieds in my stash piling up, I may increase the frequency of my manicures. What's especially nice is when I wear one color for a few days, and then I add a flakie or glitter top coat that I wear the rest of the week. It's two manicures without all the work. :-)

I am actually getting close to another giveaway with all the new followers, but that one I will publicize more.

  4. Wow, this color is a-maz-ing! I am absolutely crazy for blue and holo so clearly, this one is a winner for me. I don't own any polishes of this brand but this is certainly one I'd LOVE to own someday! :)

    1. I highly recommend the HITS holos. You don't need a special base coat, top coat doesn't dull the holo, and the formula is great. I got them on shop.llarowe.com. I keep buying a new one every week it seems! I should just place one big order for the rest of the collection and get free shipping!
